Paying for building a blog or website is necessary for the purpose of domain name registration and hosting. In my trial search through the internet, for the domain name registration, hosting and design of website I have seen a number of paid and free web design and hosting services. Blogger or BlogSpot still remain an outstanding free domain name registration, web design and hosting service
To build a free blog or website using blogger when you do not have an existing google account walk through the following steps:
- Go to www.blogger.com and click on Get Started, here you will be required to create a Google account and a form will display which you are expected to complete for the creation of you Google account. Fill accordingly!
E-mail address – the email address you are required to enter is the email address that you will subsequently use to sign in to you blog or website and this is the email account that the email verification message will be sent to after filling this form therefore the email account must be an active email address. Retype the email address in the Retype The Email Address Box.
Password – this is the password you will be using to log into your blog or website after it has been created. You need to use what you can easily remember and keep secrete and secured. As you type a line will show under password strength indicating a strong your password. Red colour show that the password strength is too weak and green colour show strong password strength so get a password with strong password strength by typing at least eight letters including number or special characters in it and type it again in the Retype Password box.
E-mail notifications – this is optional is you want Google to notify you when they have new update you can check the box and don’t check the box if you don’t want Google’s notifications.
Birthday – the important of this is that some times you forget your password google will use it to remember you password and help you out so use your correct date of birth. And in the proper date format in the form of Month/Day/Year as in America date format.
Word verification – this is the verification by some ruggedly designed word it often looks haphazard and difficult to understand just be careful and note that it is not case sensitive. Enter it into the box below it.
Accept Terms – toward the end of the page there is a box with I accept the terms of service. This is your confirmation that you have read and understand and undertake to continue with the service and click continue,
Verify Your Identity – with this you can verify your identity with SMS while a code will be sent to your phone or through Voice call where an automated will be made to your phone.
Click on select a country and select your country. Then enter your phone number in the box below it. The phone number should be in international format is the addition of your country phone code e.g. if your phone number is 08057196095 should show in the format of +2348057196095.
If you are a Nigerian avoid using network line that is not popularly recognized. When you are not able to verify your identity they may send you and automated message ignor it and try again after 24 hours and if you can’t yet, still try again after 24 hours it may be that Google are doing site maintenance as at that time.
If the format or the phone number you use is not in the right format then you will receive an error message and if your format is correct your verification code will be sent to your phone via the phone number you supplied earlier. The next thing is to enter the code in the box provided by SMS or voice call base on your earlier choise.

The next is to enter the name you chose earlier as your blog or website name in the space provided and also enter a title for your blog or website and the title of your blog and website should also resemble the blog name and should look like this – breaking news and world news update base on what so ever you wish your website or blog is talking about.

The dashboard. – On the dashboard you can create new blogs manage the existing once and you can create as many blogs with this one account and do all work you want to do on your blog (s) and website (s). Click on theNew Blog button
Enter Blog address – here is where you will enter the blog address in the space provided on the page. If your blog or website is talking about breaking news and world news update than similar blog address should be entered in to the blog address space e.g. news247 and the full website address will show as www.news247.blogspot.com. This is the address that you and other people will be using to log into your website any time you want the site.
Check availability – it is possible the name you think is not available is available while the one you think is available is not available.
To check availability click on the check availability button. and it will show if it is available or not available. While in a new interface as you type, it will show under it if it is available or not available. Once you got available name take not of the name so that you don’t forget it and click on Continue.

Starter template – from the previous section if all is well done you will receive a message that you should chose a starter template select a simple template and click Continue and you will be taking to a new page where you will be told that your blog has been created.
Start Blogging – after clicking on Create Blog you should see a notification that your blog has been created successfully. Click on start blogging or start posting.
After clicking on start Blogging – you will see the Post Editor enter the title of your post, enter the content into the content page and preview to see what it looks like before you publish. Every things in this regard can not be completed in the this post alone visited this website for subsequent post.
If you follow these steps, Congratulations you have created you first website.
